Hi
I got a probably silly question but is important to me.
When I start up OpenOffice i get 4 to 5 windows in the background like login, a strange clock and others. They are filling my desktop and this is really not great to work with. Any help?
Thanks very much guys

All of those windows are the applications that are set to launch by default in your "xinitrc" file. What you'll want to do is to edit your "xinitrc" file to get rid of all of the lines that launch those applications. You'll see them towards the bottom...they're lines that start with things like "xclock".
My xinitrc file gets rid of all of those lines and finishes with a background execute of my window manager of choice (e.g. "quartz-wm &").
It's an X11 configuration issue, not an OpenOffice.org issue If you google about xinitrc you should be able to find more info in case you need it.
