seems something (at least for me) is wrong with the RSS page, i get the following error:

Code:
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://trinity.neooffice.org/rdf-nuke.php?count=20&chars=500
Line Number 46, Column 72:    <title>Got a pop-up saying &Error loading BASIC of document&qu</title>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------^

is it just me?

I edited synp's post title and hopefully fixed it.

There seems to be a bug in the forum sw where " is converted to "e; but the post-title character limit is not adjusted accordingly. IOW, " will fit within the limit, but if you're too close to the limit, all of "e; will not get stored in the db.

Then you end up with a faux-entity and the XML parser in the RSS feed complains.

OK, gotta hit the road. Catch everyone tomorrow!

Smokey

Ah, bingo, that can do it. There are some other things that can screw up the RSS feed if folks start getting odd characters in the body contents themselves. The rss generator isn't too smart about doing those conversions and assumes that all the stuff in the database is already well formed.

If you see problems, we can either edit the topics to do the character replacement or, if it comes up more, I can add a second quoting pass into the RSS generator to make sure none of the cruft gets in there.

don't bother with the poetry; as it will just end up like the YouTube blog of Lonely Girl 15

It's all a hoax by Hollywood wanna-be/rejects...the poetry, the blog, bring out the laundry list...does anyone have Bush's audition tapes...

OK it seems to be better now. I'll look at the code again but it's probably some special characters not getting encoded properly in the XML. Most of the times it's OK, but once someone mistakenly types them in, poof!

Hmm, strange that all the dates are coming through like that. Do you know if the dates are from the RSS feed itself or are they set from the clock of the machine? Last I recall the feed is compliant to the rss specs, but I'm not sure if there are dates embedded in it.
