I found that the same user posted two more SPAM postings so I have disabled their account.

I just deleted a post that sounded like manual/semi-intelligent spam (for a Windows-only duplicate file finder software posted on a topic about finding duplicate cells in Calc) from user Cleaner007, IP 85.159.227.225.

The same spammer as above is at it again; see this thread (where I've also deleted the spam post).

At least it wasn't that "anti virus" software that many people PAID for and was actually a trojan. Crying or Very sad

I think I saw one of those. But the anti-spam measures have been so effective, I didn't even consider they were spam anymore. I just thought they were misguided..

I suppose this is a good thing Smile.

best wishes,
Oscar

FYI. I deleted the two posts from the credit123 user. While both were not spam, they appeared to be standard text and the posts appear to be test posts for future spamming.

I just wanted again to thank everyone for continuing to look for and remove the forum spam Smile While thankfully we aren't as swamped as we were before all the changes, keeping everything clean and relevant still is incredibly appreciated and is one of the things that makes a truly top notch forum, IMHO!

I deleted three spam posts by registered user phoenixlipo, IP 121.247.251.75

At least two of the three were attached to very old posts, pretended to offer a relevant suggestion, and then added a link to a questionable website.

Yeah, i saw those just before you deleted them.

It is interesting how a forum spammer in India is posting links for a business in Arizona, US.

I guess everything in the US is outsourced to India these days. Confused

This appears to be the new forum spamming technique: manually setup an account and post a few posts that look somewhat legitimate.

My guess is that they are a test and if no one deletes them, then they crank up the automated posting of more direct forum spam.
