PostPosted: Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:02 pm    Post subject: New user and install - No templates included?

I just started using Neo and I'd understood from that there were document templates that came with the install. But when I go to File>New>Templates and Documents, and then click on the Templates icon on the left and then try to open the "My Templates" folder there is nothing inside/it doesn't open. I try the same with the "Presentations" folder and there are a couple items in there so I think I'm doing the right thing.

Any suggestions? I searched the forums but didn't see any topics relating to this issue. I also did an internet search and found a few references to at least 10 or 15 templates that are normally included.

Thanks so much for any help in advance.

cheers,
T.
p.s. Other than this hiccup I'm loving this app, and very glad I found it.

Thank you for the help. I grabbed a couple templates off your links that will work for now. I was also looking specifically for a radio play template, which I didn't find but found a film script one here:

maybe that could be added to the wiki somewhere. One of the elves will have to do that. Thanks for the link.

I added the screenplay template source to the NeoWriter page in the wiki. Thanks for the link!

List of template packs and sources that include templates for more than one module can be found on the Default Styles and Templates page.

In terms of screenplay, the following thread on trinity might be helpful:

i had sworn we had made a template page in the wiki, but i can't seem to find it. i'll see about making one with all of this information. we should consider one for clip art, macros, and ninjas as well.

(only long distance ones, however)

and of course after i start working on the page, i find it:

https://neowiki.neooffice.org/index.php/Editing_Default_Styles_and_Using_Templates#Sources_of_document_templates

though it may be worth while to move it onto its own page since it is not quite the same as 'editing default styles'

i'll leave up what i did for now.
https://neowiki.neooffice.org/index.php/Templates%2C_Clip_Art_and_Macros

-j, who is aware this should probably be in the neowiki part of the forum

I took the liberty of starting the discussion there:
