|
I experienced a random crash while working with an sxi file. (I was dragging a text element, which resulted in a Spinning Beach Ball of Death, and NeoOffice exited.) This is v3.0 Patch 2 on Mac 10.5.7 PPC.
Upon restarting NeoOffice, I am told that I cannot work with the file because it is locked for editing. Restarting NeoOffice or the entire computer does not release the lock. |

You're seeing the new "improved" file locking mechanism Sun implemented in NeoOffice 3.0's underlying OpenOffice.org code.
Patrick describes how it works and how to remove stuck locks in this forum post.

Thank you!
Sorry, I searched the Bugzilla for relevant posts, but not this forum, so sorry for the repeat question.
While I'm at it, I'm posting the crash log, in case you care to see it. |

Thank you for the crash log. It appears that the dragging triggered a crash in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code.
Can you remember what you were dragging when the crash occurred. If so, can you get NeoOffice to crash again if you repeat the same dragging?
If yes, then can you attach the file and tell us the steps that we should do to trigger the crash? Then we can try to reproduce the bug and work on fixing it.
