|
While using the native version browser to look at old versions of a document in NeoOffice, I found that closing the document window and then pressing the "Done" button would cause the document window to reappear after exiting the version browser. This reopened window could not be closed and would have a snapshot of the closed window's content before it was closed in the version browser.
I found that Mac OS X was reopening the closed native window and, since NeoOffice's code does not know how to detect or handle reopened windows such as this, the window would not be redrawn and would not forward any key or mouse events to the NeoOffice code.
I have fixed this bug in the following test patches so that you can now close the window in the version browser by selecting the File :: Close menu or pressing the Command-W keys. Then, when you exit the version browser, the closed window will not redisplay. Note: pressing the document window's red close button in the version browser still works normally (it does not close the window but behaves like pressing the version browser's "Done" button):

I forgot to mention how to access the version browser for those of you that don't regularly use Mac OS X Versions: open a previously saved document and select the File :: Revert to Saved menu.
Note for Mavericks users: in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion, there was a "Browse All Versions" option in the titlebar popover menu but sadly, Apple removed that option in Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

FYI. I have included the fix for this bug in NeoOffice 3.4.1 Patch 1 which can be downloaded from the NeoOffice patch download page.

FYI. I have included the fix for this bug in NeoOffice 2013.3 which is available in Apple's Mac App Store.
