We have released NeoOffice 2017.29. This version of NeoOffice fixes the following bugs:
  • NeoOffice would sommetimes crash when pressing menu shortcut keys
  • NeoOffice would crash when opening certain .docx documents that contain text fields
  • NeoOffice would crash pasting malformed HTML tables into a Writer document
  • NeoOffice would sometimes become unresponsive when spellchecking a large block of text on the application's main thread
If you already purchased NeoOffice in Apple's Mac App Store, you can upgrade or redownload NeoOffice 2017.29 for free from the Mac App Store.

If you are currently using NeoOffice 2017 Professional Edition, you do not need to purchase NeoOffice from the Mac App Store. You can get all of the bug fixes by installing this patch.

PostPosted: Fri Jul 09, 2021 11:30 am    Post subject: Problems opening PDF files or installing extensions?

If you are running the Mac App Store version of NeoOffice on macOS Sierra or High Sierra, you will find that opening PDF files or installing most extensions will fail after you install or update NeoOffice from the Mac App Store. This is due to Apple's security updates to macOS Sierra and High Sierra which breaks NeoOffice's PDF and extension loading code.

To fix this problem, install the following patch after you install or update the Mac App Store version of NeoOffice. The patch contains a fix that should make opening PDF files and loading extensions work within Apple's latest macOS Sierra and High Sierra security updates:

We have released NeoOffice 2017.30. This version of NeoOffice fixes the following bugs:
  • When running on macOS Monterey, NeoOffice's native save dialog would fail so NeoOffice now displays all native dialogs as modal dialog windows instead of sheet windows on macOS Big Sur and higher
  • When running in Dark Mode, NeoOffice would copy text from a Writer comment and would change the automatic color to black when pasted into any Writer comments
If you already purchased NeoOffice in Apple's Mac App Store, you can upgrade or redownload NeoOffice 2017.30 for free from the Mac App Store.

If you are currently using NeoOffice 2017 Professional Edition, you do not need to purchase NeoOffice from the Mac App Store. You can get all of the bug fixes by installing this patch.

We have released NeoOffice 2017.31. This version of NeoOffice fixes the following bugs:
  • When running on macOS Catalina or Big Sur, clicking on the menubar would sometimes cause NeoOffice to crash in Apple's native menubar code
  • When applying a table theme to a table in an Impress document, NeoOffice would crash due to RedHat crashing bug #1255200
  • NeoOffice would ignore any Thunderbird or Firefox certificate paths set in the Options dialog or via the MOZILLA_CERTIFICATE_FOLDER environment variable
This version also includes code backported from the OpenOffice 4.1.11 code that fixes several document signing security vulnerabilities.

If you already purchased NeoOffice in Apple's Mac App Store, you can upgrade or redownload NeoOffice 2017.31 for free from the Mac App Store.

If you are currently using NeoOffice 2017 Professional Edition, you do not need to purchase NeoOffice from the Mac App Store. You can get all of the bug fixes by installing this patch.

PostPosted: Mon Oct 11, 2021 7:49 am    Post subject: Silicon Mac users: temporarily slow after install or update

NeoOffice is an application based on Intel. You must install Apple's Rosetta to run NeoOffice on Apple Silicon.

After installing or updating NeoOffice on a Silicon Mac, Apple's Rosetta will convert NeoOffice's Intel code to Silicon Mac code. During this conversion, NeoOffice will appear to temporarily hang or run slowly. Unfortunately, Apple's Rosetta does not convert code in the background. Instead, Apple's Rosetta only converts code when you are actively using NeoOffice.

So, after installation and after each update, NeoOffice will run slowly until Apple's Rosetta has finished converting all of NeoOffice's Intel code applicable to the features that you normally use.

We have released NeoOffice 2017.33. This version of NeoOffice fixes the following bug:
  • When using the hyperlink dialog, LibreOffice bug #86845 would occur in NeoOffice
This version also includes a backport of LibreOffice's most current password management code. If you have previously set a master password, NeoOffice will prompt you to reset your master password at launch. Resetting your master password will reencode all your saved passwords in a more secure format than in previous versions of NeoOffice.

If you already purchased NeoOffice in Apple's Mac App Store, you can upgrade or redownload NeoOffice 2017.33 for free from the Mac App Store.

If you are currently using NeoOffice 2017 Professional Edition, you do not need to purchase NeoOffice from the Mac App Store. You can get all of the bug fixes by installing this patch.
