I'm sure that's just the transparency issue...it looks fine in Preview and Acrobat 6 under 10.3.9....

Hm... I didn't know, and probably not many others either? If this is an issue, it has to been concidered by Ed as the owner of the Neo/J brand. But I guess that as long as Neo/J is registered trademark (and supposing that the Gnome PDF Viewer's use of Neo/J 1.1 is not), it will be no problem..?
Of course: Any conflict on name and/or logo at this point would be disturbing on all levels

If anyone thinking of distributing the Community CD with Neo/J would like another COVER TYPE than the "jewel-case" that I've made, please let me know...
Making other cover types based on the existing template is quite easy
Thanks,
Knut |

Maybe you could make a paperboard case version? |

BTW, I don't think I've mentioned it since seeing the final version, but it looks really fabulous! (Looks like Dan made you a new version of the logo-phrase, since it looks very crisp!)
Thanks for doing this! I'll add your a link to your page on the Draft Trademark and Distribution page....

Thanks for your response on the design. I got the psd file with the splash screen from Dan, but it was 72 dpi, so I re-made it in 300 dpi. (Piece of cake since I had all the effect parameters for the text/font. It is some marginal differences in the design though, but I guess it is within what's acceptable, if "picky you" didn't see it )
Thanks again,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
On the CD covers I've downloaded, the word 'processor' has been mis-spelt as 'prosessor' in the first paragraph.
But better to catch it now before distribution, rather than after! _________________ Ray Saunders

Hi Knut,
Once you've had the chance to correct that typo, it would be helpful for us in the World Scout Bureau to have copy of the original psd file of the new folding sleeve (neosleeve-a4.psd?).
As Patrick can confirm, we will be acting as his mailing agents for the first 250 CDs ordered for delivery in Switzerland with NeoOffice.org retaining 100% of the asking price on his web page. I will be using your sleeve and I simply want to add a short text in the space below the words 'Community Distributor' about our support to this project.
Thanks for the great cover design. _________________ Ray Saunders

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the response! I have fixed the misspelling, and posted new files on the web. (But I am on my way out, and have not checked that the files download properly, so if you have problems, let me know!)
Send me an email, and I'll send you the requested files.

|
I took another pass at the CD distribution page, partly because notes relating to it are on my desktop and I want to start cleaning, but also because it would be good to have this policy "live" and out of draft state by release time.
Basically I tried to write the intro section (taking a bunch of stuff from Waldo's suggestions about the Neo/J Readme). So if you get a chance, please read over that.
We'll need Ed's final stamp, of course, before it all becomes official, so maybe it won't be live for the release (dunno when he's back from the wedding), but....

With reference to the Europe listing of distributors (currently one, JKT), could I suggest that it is more important to the reader to see first in bold the country name (in this case, United Kingdom), rather than the individual(s) acronym or whatever. At the moment, I can easily see JKT attracting 'custom' from all over "Europe" from those who don't spot the "(UK only)" proviso, which is not his intention, I'm sure. In the longer term, we could see a useful build-up of the countries listed under each distribution area.
Edit: And the link to Patrick's CD page is not correct or his page is not up yet...? _________________ Ray Saunders

It is the correct URL but the page won't be up until tomorrow night.
