The little icon that shows up on the URL line in your browser, and in tabs on Mozilla derived browsers is called favicon.ico. It is cached by your browser and now that Ed have updated them on his server - it May - or May not - display. (it's a little Neo Ship icon). If it does not show on your browser it may be because it's already in cache (and other places? ).
Try purging your Browser cache.
If that does not work - you may have to delete and remap links to Trinity.Neooffice.org. I have not been able to get the icon to show on SeaMonkey bookmarks that I already have set.
I saw some notes about doing more things to get the icon to display over at www.Favicon.com
Philip (now where did I put that Neo Ship Icon?!? ) |
Found out why Seamonkey, and sometimes Firefox, don't display the Favicons.ico
See http://ilias.ca/SeamonkeyvsFirefox, and how to turn them on at: http://seamonkey.ilias.ca/browserfaq/Favicons
Philip ( discovers new things alllllll the time )
\ So it's NOT a plot to remove our NeoOffice ship icon

Ah, thanks for reviving this thread! Like smokey mentioned, I need to change the MIME type and add in the transparancy. It's amazing how things can fall through the cracks...
I'll get to that later on tonight after work.

Well, work kept going until 2AM so it had to wait a day. Stupid slow tibook
The MIME type for the .ico file should now be updated. Onto working at that png (which will need some PHP script modifications).

And the php should be set to use the png. Ships everywhere!
Thanks for pointing out those two fixes.

Heh, I've been trying to get Jake to do that for nearly a year now (since just after Neo/J 1.1 was released, um, a year ago today!)

It was easy here since a while back I had refactored the PHP a bit so all headers are generated by a common page. The main www server is doing static pages, but I can kick it up on the frontpage at least tonight.

I added in both the favicon.ico file, favicon.png, and appropriate link tag in the header on the main page of the www server.

The favicon.ico is now on the planamesa.com and planamesa.net sites.
