I have a screen shot of a menu item which is really super easy
relating to page numbering, starting documents with totally
different page numbers. Like, for instance, having a separate
document which is really a chapter of a book, which I want
to print as though it all started on page 107 or page 76, and
so on.

There is a control in Appleworks which just allows one to do this
by showing "Start This Document At page Number ____", and you
fill in the blank.

So, how can I send a JPEG screen shot of this really super simple
control to the developers to see if they would consider adding it?
How can we contact them with suggestions, and how can we send
screen shots to them of simple features that are very intuitive
so that they may have the possibility of including them in the
next version?

Love NeoOffice, want to dump my Appleworks because I love
open source and will undergo even some loss of function and form
to support the cause, but this one page-numbering feature is still too
important to me in my work. Any way to contact the developers
to show them this request, like an email where we could attach
a screenshot file or something like that?

Would love to get this issue resolved or learn how to find it
on OpenOffice so I could switch over to it.

All this is wrong. Clearly I don't understand 'Offset' My original post is as follows
Quote:
What you want to do ought to be possible by following these instructions from NeoWiki. Setting an offset of, say, 76, should make 76 your start page number. However I find that if I set an offset the field is still visible but apparently empty Sad

Here is the correct info
Instructions to start a document at a Page Number higher than 1 are available on the OOo Wiki (scroll down the page) - I've tried them and they work. The same question is covered on p. 122 of the NeoOffice User Guide downloadable from here

Bug #1211 (NeoOffice) seems to me to be based on the same misunderstanding I had about the way 'offset' works. Maybe the comment should be edited - I'm not sure. As I say, I don't really understand 'offset'.

-The NeoOffice developers read this forum, so they've already seen your suggestion.

-The feature you want changed is part of Neo's underlying OpenOffice.org code. As such, changing it is beyond the scope and resources (financial and people-hours) of the NeoOffice project.

-In addition to the link James3359 gave you, you may want to take a look at the NeoWiki article on page numbers.

Edit: I have now seen your other thread. Since we've essentially answered the question about contacting developers in this thread, I am locking this thread so that response related to page numbering will appear in the other--more easily searchable--thread.
