|
I've been trying to download Neo 2.0 Alpha 4 Patch 2 for PowerPC from http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/en/patch.php, but every time I click on the link Firefox downloads about 500kb more than it did the previous time and then craps out, without an error message, leaving an incomplete .dmg file in my downloads folder.
I managed to download it fine using Safari, so maybe this is just some odd caching problem at my end, but I though it was worth the heads-up anyway.

I'd been having issues with Camino recently, too, although I thought it was just my connection being crappy (which it always is of late when I'm going after patches), so I've always finished the incomplete download with curl, which sometimes would take a couple of tries to grab all the remaining bits.
Part of the issue with the subsequent downloads is cache-related (Gecko caches downloads too extensively), but maybe Gecko and the patch server don't get along

No problems with Camino on my end. I was able to download the file once, then download it again a half-dozen times in just a few seconds (you were right, Camino/Gecko cached the entire download - I don't think I've seen anything like this with Safari), and after empyting the cache I was able to download it a second time. |

Well, as the world is full of ironies, this patch downloaded with no issue whatsoever

Hmmm,
I have been downloading Neo and the patches the last few weeks with few problems. I have notice that the (whole?) Internet has been ... wonky at times.
I use SeaMonkey 1.0.2 (Mozilla/Foxfire 1.5 code base) and have not noticed any "browser" related problems. Downloads do seem a little "slower" than previously in the last 1-2 months - Trinity Server, Internet, ISP, or whatever problems!
It's taking apx 30 minutes to download Neo Alpha -4. I thought it only took 10-20 minutes in previous months. (let's blame it on Ed's new, FASTER Trinity! YA, THAT'S IT!! )

Well, whatever was wrong before is now not wrong. I've just successfully downloaded Patch 3 with Firefox.

Especially since planamesa.com is not hosted on Trinity's new server ... |
