Ed,
iLife has tools for making podcasts - Digital video /mp3s/jpg, using iWeb and putting the whole thing together in GarageBand to layer dialog, pictures and/or Video, background music, images, Title pages and such.
It's amazing at all the items that is does and it can put together very professional presentations. Check out some of the MacWorld reviews and Podcasts.
See Creating and Publishing Podcasts
In reviewing this site - you could record the dialog, use screen captures to show images, add a little bit of catchy music, GO Wild!
I know it would take a bit of your precious time, but the Public Relations value would be ... priceless!
What better modern way to present your information. Lead the pack instead of following others (as you have done ... before). It may even be a way to present individual aspects of going Aqua.
Think of it as a way to begin exploring adding QT / Video / Audio to NeoOffice. (I always try to multi-task new tasks, experiments, and new projects)
Philip ( sometime I scare myself coming up with good ideas )
\ my wife, and office mates, wonder why I review so much information
\\ it's so I have an idea of what's available when the need arises!

OK, I put the AAC up on my own server for time being until I can figure out how to get the podcast into iTunes. For updated links, check out the main NeoOffice @ OOoCon website.
For now, direct links are the following (though be forewarned I may edit this post if we get hit up for lotsa bandwidth needs to go to new links):

Ed,
I tried to publish podacast http://.../podcasts/Aqua_demystified.mp4 on iTumes and got the following message "We experienced a timeout connection to this feed at this time. Read timed out"
Hmmmm
I'm downloading now, will import .MP4 into iTunes, then try playing with this in GarageBand as a Podcast. Have you got:
1. Intro cover page (NeoOffice Logo) graphic
2. Agenda (Impress vs Keynote page)
3. Copies of any Screen Shots to show the points (Scroll arrows, Menus, Finder, etc...) you talk about??
4. outro page with NeoOffice URL
and more?!?

Philip ( poking his nose into more new areas! Wheeeee )
I wondered "why" he was spending so much time on Impress, instead of Writer. Then he mentioned that there were problems with displaying and working with text and he was probably focusing on features (like drawing) that were working.
i think Eric had no other option to stress the few little things that were actually working.
now about something completely different :
I thing that with the OOoCon2006_03.avi you can realy use the audio to create another presentation where you show the interface. the explanation of Ed on the little white board is *charming* to look at and i perfectly understood the explanation, but i am confident that other users did not understand a single bit of it. if you show the explanation of Ed together with the real interface on screen, you should be able to convince more people to use Neo. As you know, mac people want to feel/see/hear/smell the interface _________________ William

Exactly what I said - I was practicing being ... tactful. I need all the ... practice "I" get!

If you notice the message above - we are looking at doing that very thing.
I'm playing with GarageBand to create a podcast that has the audio, and screen shots.
Who knows what we might be able to cook up. Stay tuned.

Ed,
On the topic of NeoOffice Podcasts - I'm learning lots using GarageBand.
To do a better job I could use a few more images.
Could we have the screen images from the NeoOffice 2.0 Press Release
( Writer, Calc, Impress, and comparison page) posted on the Samples/logos page on the Wiki?
1. Intro cover page (NeoOffice Logo & URL) graphic
2. Intro to speakers
3. Agenda (Impress vs Keynote page)
4. Copies of any Screen Shots to show the points
(Scroll arrows, Menus, Finder, etc...) you talk about??
4.1 the Time points to place the images
5. outro page with NeoOffice URL

I'll work to get those images up for you today. I've got the source document for the press kit (Freehand) I can send along as well. I'll try to see if I can get some screenshots to go along with the whiteboard explanations too

OK, I did an export of some of the images in the press kit and put them up on my server. There's also one PNG image of the entire shebang if you want to do some other photo editing or the like:

1 -the "Weapons of Mass Distraction?" thread for examples of: List Headers, Progress Bar, Tabs, and HIThemes- graphic Fun,
2 - Images from the Wiki - NeoOffice Screenshots
I'll pick up your images and See what happens.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the images for your White Board talks (VCL, Scrollbars, etc)
