The OLPC Wiki is a MESS

i thought about putting this in the NeoWiki section in such a way that sounded like i was setting up a new part of the NeoWiki, but was pretty sure that wouldn't work...

the OLPC wiki (http://wiki.laptop.org) is a mess. Flat out, hands down, a mess. and it is seems to be only getting worse.

the main issue i am seeing is, well, all the good wiki people are here, doing the neowiki. while not entirely the OLPC's fault, they started after NeoOffice, it does but a crimp into things.

here is the shining example i found last night. i had a simple question, what were the specs for the display so I could pre-format PDF files for a custom fit. (and boy that alone i could rant about)

now you'd think with that first sentance, all would be answered. and if you shut your eyes to the rest of this HUGE page (see smokey why i banned those???) you'll notice that the page itself doesn't even know. there are discussions within paragraphs that are obviously two editors arguing.

nothing is deleted. nothing organized. no one is maintaining anything but the build pages and the front page. it is a mess.

so i've decided to start helping. which i think is the real rant. i mean i was --> <-- this close to having free time. oh well.

so smokey, what kind of bribe do i need to get you to help?

ps. when i make it rich on teh intrawebz i'll be sending beer and ticket numbers to you, ed. yes you. and you'll like it. it will be good beer.

Haha yeah I do have to say at times the XO wiki can be annoying. I remember searching through there for something on flash instructions and it was like reading stereo instructions at times

go over there and give them the what for, what for.
