So where does that sub-name come from? I certainly don't have "Blue Pill" in my profile.
And I don't need no blue pills!!

Hehe. The little sub names aren't in the profile but come from the server itself. They change depending on how much you post You'll see a couple of different ones as you read through the threads. There are at least two folks here who have been through all of them now so I have to start adding more

jakeOSX, schlesi and I are all Oracles; aside from Dan, Patrick, and Ed's cutsom ranks, I haven't seen anyone with higher post counts/ranks. It feels very strange, though, to be in the same category with the other two, who have such a longer and richer history with the project(s).
(There's not any place on trinity that lists all the ranks, is there?)

Unfortunately, no, there's nowhere that lists who all is a member of what rank. You can see everyone's in their user profile, but there's nowhere that lists all the users. Something else I can try and add in my spare time...I think it'd be fun

Gee. I wonder what movie I was jonesing on when I came up with these.
Right now the active ranks are (in order of "newbie" to "veteran"):
Blue Pill
Red Pill
Agent
Sentinel
Pure-blooded Human
Operator
Captain
Keymaker
Councilman
Oracle
The only "special" ranks are:
The Architect (Patrick & Dan)
The One (me)
I figured early on giving us three different ones would help newbies kind of associate our handles here with the developers
The ranks are actually the only conscious Matrix reference here...I did it in response to a French article that brought it up as a criticism and was like "heh, funny". Ironically, I chose "neo" for "new" ("newoffice" just doesn't sound cool, and the "neo" <-> "neolithic" made sense for prototypes too). "trinity" is named after the Trinity Site (first nuclear bomb explosion...a rather historic event, kind of like I hoped this place would be) and also after the first actual software application I ever wrote (a purchasing order system named "Trinity" for a school district).

You can't fool us, ed. The donation page is clearly a reference to more-fee-us.

And here I had been going along thinking trinity was named for the three apps, OOo, Neo, and Neo/J But the real explanation is cool!

I got curious about this and searched, too. I've noticed there are even more titles now. Is there an up-to-date list that lives somewhere? I'd love to see it!
Funny stuff. |

I haven't seen a full list, although Ed probably has access to it. There's a little more detail here but it's not a full list.

I've added it to the New Articles Needed page. I'll try to get around to writing it one of these days.
