|
i am reliablly unable to get any function other than SUM when i use the Data:Subtotal menu. i select another (eg, AVERAGE), but when it is applied i still get "=SUBTOTAL(9, ..." vs. "=SUBTOTAL(1, ..." which is the correct function index (cf. Table 8)
i got this behavior on both 3.0.1 NeoOffice, and the recently downloaded 3.1.1.
is there a way to know whether this is a Neo or OO bug? |

If you can attach a sample document and tell us what cells to look at and what result we should expect to see in those cells, then we can use your document to try and reproduce this problem in both NeoOffice and OpenOffice.org.
You can attach a sample document using the steps in this post.

Thank you for the sample document. At first I got the same results as you but then I figured out why it is happening: in the Subtotals dialog you need to explicitly set each checked column's formula to "Average".
Like you, I thought that the selected formula applied to all checked columns but it only gets set for the current selected column name. In other words, you can set different formulas for each check column.
So, to set all checked columns to use the "Average" forumla, open the Subtotals dialog and after you check a column, click on the column name to select it. Then select the "Average" formula. Repeat this for each column that you check and all checked columns will use the "Average" formula.
Do the above steps work for you?
