We have some spreadsheets that were originally created in 2.2 with password protected sheets. Up until we updated from 3.0 to 3.1.1 everything worked fine. Now the password is no longer accepted when you try and unprotect the sheet, says it is incorrect. But, if we go back to a machine with 3.0 on it, or OO 3.2.0 Build 9483 it works just fine. Please help  Tried updateing to 3.1.1 patch 1 and that did not fix it either.

Thank you for providing a sample document. I can reproduce this bug regarding password protection in both NeoOffice 3.1.1 and my Go-oo build. Since the password protection works with OpenOfffice.org 3.1.1, this appears to be a bug in Novell's Go-oo code.
Patrick will investigate this bug further and see if he can fix it. Once he has a fix, he will post a test patch for you to try.

I think that I have fixed this Go-oo bug. It appears that the Novell engineers made some changes to the Go-oo code that NeoOffice is based and their changes disabled using the old password checking algorithm that was used in older versions of NeoOffice and OpenOffice.org. So I fixed this bug by retrying the entered password using the old password checking algorithm if the password check using the Go-oo algorithm fails.
Can you install the following test patch and tell us if the bug is fixed for you?:
