This must be simple - how do you create a reference to the number of a numbered paragraph elsewhere in the document so that if the number of the paragraph changes the reference changes - for example if a document the reference is to paragraph 10.3.2 and paragraph 10.3.1 is deleted, the reference changes to 10.3.1. |

This is really a generic OpenOffice.org question. If you ask it at www.oooforum.org or search thorugh some of the other platform agnostic resources at the topics at the top of this forum you may be able to find some answers. I myself am not an expert on numbering. It's frustrating at times since OOo can try to be too clever about continuing numbering, particularly with nested lists.

I think you have to use chapters.
In short words you have to use a style for the paragraph (or sub paragraph), and after set a chapter using the style.
