I did find previous threads on setting shortcut command sequences, so I got a nice start. Something seemed a bit off, but I don't know whether it's my newbieness (so far as NeoOfficeJ goes) or a change w/ Patch 9.

The odd thing: what does "Restore" mean in the Calc-Edit menu? It's tied to Cmd-Y, which of course absolutely should be for "Repeat," just like in every other MacOS application.

Also, can someone comment on the difference between "Redo" and "Repeat"? In MicrosoftOffice they are pretty much the same.

thanks
Carl

Cmd-Y may seem odd for a Mac application, but realize that Neo/J is basically OpenOffice.org which was developed for Windows/Linux/Solaris. As a result, many Windowsy shortcuts and key names are deeply embedded in the code.

Now for your question. In Neo/J and OpenOffice.org, both "Restore" and "Redo" mean to reverse the last "Undo" operation whereas "Repeat" means to do the last operation again. If you have not done any "Undo" operations, then "Restore" and "Redo" become disabled.

At this point in time we're only focused on getting the application working without X11. This is an application from a Unix world that was designed by Windows programmers, so there are many things that don't match the standard Apple HIG. We're not really able to target those at this time.

That said, there are groups of people who are trying to create new configuration files with renamed items and keyboard shortcuts. You may be able to hook up with them and help out in the Testing forum.
