Is there any way to have more than one line in an equation? I type enter
at the end of each line in the equation editor, but it appears as one long line in the main document.

Hello,

try the following:
Double click the formula.
1) Go to the place where the linebreak should be inserted
2) Hold down the CTRL-key and klick the mouse
3) A window opens
4) Choose "Formatierung" this is the german word. It is the second from the bottom.
5) Choose "neue Zeile". In english: new line. It is the seventh from the top
6) Close the equation editor.

This should work.
Best regards
