Thanks JKT and rays. Using the recent items menu could solve at least partially my longing for the recently used files Had forgotten about this feature
2) I cannot access my recently opened documents, which is an important feature..
I access my most recently opened documents using the Apple menu's built-in Recent Items... feature. As this can be accessed while in any application (including Finder and NeoOffice/J), it has become my preferred method as it takes me directly back to the recent document in one step, even if I have been checking my mail or surfing in some other application.
Well... this is nice... if the only documents you use on your computer are NeoJ documents...
I work as a web site maintainer/designer, and i open dozens, if not hundreds of files a day. Therefore, the recent files menu in the apple menu is pretty useless, as it will always be filled by a load of tiny html/css/php/perl/etc... files. Therefore, I have the recent documents menu disabled (and set the no. of displayed recent apps to 50, as most apps i use regularly (not all, however) will be in that list)
I use the NeoJ recent files menu to access the word/excel files i am currently working on. I do also use the recent files menu's of other programs because then i will be sure to find the documents i need.
So, in short, the general recent documents menu is no option, i really want to open recent documents in NeoJ, even, (especially!) if no documents are open.
